Finance Manager – Kinderfarms

Location: Venice, CA (hybrid work model)

Description: KinderFarms is seeking a Finance Manager with a diverse skillset that can leverage various data sources and offer financial insights across the organization. The Finance Manager role will report to the Director of Finance and partner closely with the Operations, Sales, and Marketing teams to improve business performance and achieve the company’s goals and objectives. The role’s primary responsibility is to report on and analyze various financial and non-financial data to help the business make optimal business decisions and ultimately drive superior business results. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and have a high aptitude for analytical and strategic thinking.


  • Partner with operations to develop more accurate reporting and forecasting of COGS and freight & logistics costs while identifying opportunities for cost efficiency
  • Work closely with the Director of Finance to create financial reports and forecasts, incorporating historical data and forward-looking information from cross-functional business partners
  • Conduct financial statement variance analysis, providing insightful commentary to improve company performance
  • Evaluate the profitability of proposed new item launches and provide insights to the team
  • Update and publish periodic KPI reports and dashboards spanning, finance, operations, sales, and marketing
  • Measure and analyze market and business performance via POS data (e.g. sales, distribution, share, price, velocity) and develop actionable insights and recommendations
  • Partner with Sales & Marketing to evaluate the impact of trade promotion and marketing investments, identifying ways to optimize ROI on spend
  • Coordinate with Sales and Marketing to determine appropriate pricing by customer and product, ensuring company internal margin benchmarks are achieved
  • Craft data driven and insightful board and investor presentation support materials
  • Other ad-hoc analyses as needed


  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a preference for major in Business Administration or Finance
  • MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of finance experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • Successful track record of increasing responsibilities in finance/FP&A business partner roles in emerging food & beverage brands
  • Ability to distill large quantities of information into simplified easy-to-understand insights
  • Strong Excel modeling and analysis skills, PowerPoint presentation skills, and analytical approach to issues
  • Experience with syndicated data (SPINS, IRI, Nielsen)
  • Analytic ability to translate data into meaningful insights and action
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task against several projects at one time
  • Self-starter with high degree of personal initiative
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic and complex environment and can work through ambiguity
  • Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills; able to foster open communication and engage/influence others

Salary: $130,000 base salary + bonus + equity potential
