Venice Brands is seeking a highly analytic, strategic addition to its team to serve as an Investment Associate. This position report to the Founder & CEO, and it will cover both existing portfolio companies (financial forecasts, valuations, investor updates, ad hoc projects and analysis) and the diligence and transactional aspects of new investments. This person must have 3+ years of investment banking, management consulting, or private equity experience, as well as exceptional PowerPoint and financial modeling skills. He or she will work very closely with all members of VB team as well as the various portfolio companies.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial forecasting, valuations and investor updates across existing portfolio companies
- Work very closely with the brands to maintain accurate and up-to-date rolling financial forecasts
- Create and share very regular financial reports and KPIs with the VB team and portfolio companies
- Build relationships with external debt partners for LOCs, equipment financing, and other offerings
- Work closely with the Controller and AR / AP team to effectively manage cash for these brands
- Lead the diligence of potential new investment opportunities, including some level of deal sourcing
Qualifications
- BS/MS degree from a top tier college or university, including excellent GPA and test scores
- 3+ years of relevant investment banking, management consulting, or private equity experience
- Exception PowerPoint and financial modeling skills, including deep understanding of all three statements
- Very motivated self-starter who can work in a fast-paced environment and on multiple projects at once
- Ability to communicate and influence people across all levels of the organization
- Ability to coach, train, develop, and encourage new team members over time
